Your Pillow Isn't Optimized for You Yet. A Few Quick Adjustments Give You a Better Night's Sleep.

The Noble Head Pillow isn't one-size-fits-all, and that's intentional. The real benefit comes from customizing it to your body, your sleep position, and your preferences. This section walks you through short instructional videos to get the most out of your Noble Pillow. Watch them in order before making any changes to your pillow.

Start here — Step 1 of 4

Head Pillow Overview

Before you adjust anything, watch this video to understand how your pillow is built. The Noble Head Pillow has nine compartments that guide support to your head, neck, and shoulders. This allows the pillow to mold to your anatomy, relieve pressure points, and redistribute heat through the night.

Step 2 of 4

Initial Setup and Assessment

This video walks you through setting up your pillow for the first time and assessing head and neck positioning. Getting this baseline right before making any adjustments will save you time and give you a better result.

Step 3 of 4

Adjusting for Back & Combination Sleepers

This video is for you if you sleep primarily on your back or move between positions through the night. Follow the on-screen guidance to dial in the right loft and support balance for your sleep style. Complete this step before deciding whether any further adjustments are needed.

Step 4 of 4

Adjusting for Side Sleepers

This video is for you if you sleep primarily on your side. Side sleeping typically requires more loft than back sleeping, so the adjustments here will be slightly different. Follow the on-screen guidance carefully before making any changes to your fill level.

Head Pillow - Additional Information

For Stomach Sleepers

Most belly sleepers who come to us fall into one of four categories: those advised by a healthcare professional to stop stomach sleeping, those who intuitively sense it isn't working for their body, those who haven't yet connected their sleep position to how they feel, and those who aren't ready to change positions and simply want the best setup for stomach sleeping.

Find your category below.

Ready to transition off your stomach

If you've been advised to change positions or already know you want to, these steps will help:

  1. Start by sleeping on your side with a pillow between your knees to align your spine. The Noble Lower Body Pillow includes a buttress specifically designed to prevent rolling.
  2. Use the nine adjustable compartments in your head pillow to dial in your comfort for your new position.
  3. If transitioning to back sleeping, consider placing a pillow under your knees for added support.
  4. Be patient. It typically takes a few weeks to adapt to a new sleep position. Consistency matters more than perfection.

Not sure if stomach sleeping is affecting you

Stomach sleeping is worth reconsidering for a few reasons. It places strain on the cervical spine and lower back, can compress internal organs and affect digestion, and may contribute to breathing difficulties depending on how your head is positioned. These effects are gradual, which is why many people don't connect their sleep position to how they feel during the day.

Not ready to change positions

That's okay. Here's the best setup for your situation:

If you sleep exclusively on your stomach, consider removing the core insert from your pillow to reduce loft as much as possible. If you spend some time on your side or back as well, rewatch the setup video for guidance on configuring the pillow for multiple positions.

Sensitive to Texture, Temperature, or Firmness?

The Noble Head Pillow is designed to be fully adjustable and supportive on its own. But we know some people are especially sensitive to texture, temperature, or firmness. For those needs, we offer a few thoughtful solutions.

Why you might be noticing sensitivity

The textured shredded fill creates gentle micro-contours by design. For most people these contours are comfortable within a few nights as the pillow molds to their anatomy. For those with heightened sensory sensitivity, the adjustment period can take longer, or a modified setup may serve them better.

Customization options

The following accessories are available separately, priced at cost with no markup:

  • Custom down inserts — crafted by a down artisan for an extra-plush, softer feel that reduces the perception of texture
  • Handmade silk pillowcases — provide a smooth surface and natural thermal regulation for those sensitive to heat or rough textures
  • Bamboo toppers — soften the surface texture and offer additional heat regulation for those who sleep warm

These accessories are not included with every pillow because doing so would raise the price for everyone. We make them available for the customers who need them, without adding unnecessary cost for those who don't.

Still not feeling right?

If you have worked through all four setup videos and tried adjusting your fill level and none of these solutions are resolving the issue, please reach out directly. We are happy to help you find the right configuration for your needs.

How to Clean
The first two methods are the most recommended:

Method 1 (Washing the Pillow Shell): Remove the pillow fill and wash the pillow shell per the pillowcase instructions. Dry the pillow fabric completely. Refill the pillow shell with the stuffing. Reassemble the pillow.

Method 2 (Spot Cleaning and Deodorizing): Sprinkle baking soda over the entire pillow surface. Let the baking soda sit for at least an hour. Use a vacuum with an upholstery brush to thoroughly remove the baking soda.

If you need to refresh the fill, there are a few options:

-Replace the fill yourself https://noblepillow.com/products/fill-for-head-lower-body-pillows

-Pillow-care https://noblepillow.com/products/pillow-care

Method 3 (Wash the Entire Pillow): Dissolve detergent in cold water and soak the pillow parts separately for 15 minutes, flipping the outer pillow and core a few times. After soaking, squeeze out the soapy water and then soak the pillow in clean water for an additional 15 minutes. Finally, line dry the pillow with the zipper system open to allow for proper airflow. Note: Drying may take up to 2 or 3 days. Do not machine dry.

Important Tips:

-Use a safety pin to keep zippers from opening during the wash.

-Avoid using hot water as it may damage the pillow.

-Never use a hairdryer to speed up drying.

Steps below covers common questions and quick fixes:

Pillow is too firm
-Personalize with an Optional Down Insert for a seamless transition beneath your head, offering an ideal solution for those adjusting to more supportive fill types or dedicated down enthusiasts easing into a change.
-Make sure you follow the fluffing instructions.
-Only use a gusseted pillowcase like a Noble Pillowcase to avoid compression.
-Follow the pillowcase washing/drying instructions; if it shrinks, it will compress and make the pillow stiff.
-Try removing the filling from stiff areas.
-If you received softer fill types like memory foam, try switching out or mixing.
-If you need a custom down insert, don't hesitate to contact us.

Pillow is too soft
-One or more sections may be replaced with firmer stuffing.
-If you are still in trial period, you can exchange your pillow for a new pillow with a different fill type.
-You can fluff the pillow less often

Want to feel more neck support
-Be sure to follow directions for your sleeping style on pages 3,4 or 5 first.
-Stuff and insert the included neck support into section 8.
-When pulling the neck support into position, be sure to include the base support (section 4); you may need to pull from underneath the bottom of the pillow.
-If you need a firmer fill type please let us know; one or more sections may be replaced with different stuffing.
-In some cases, the pillow may be rotated or flipped over. The pillowcase can be put on to line up with the new orientation. (pillowcase may be repositioned for new orientation).

I can't get used to the natural fibers/clumpy
-A bamboo pillow-topper smooths out the texture. Reversible to choose a preference of a thicker or thinner side.
-Switch the stuffing out with CertiPur-US certified memory foam or other soft fill.

I don't have a neutral posture like in Figure 1
-You may need more time transitioning. One handful at a time spread out over a tolerable time frame. Don't force "perfect posture" too quickly.
-Certain situations like GERDS or surgery may require different elevation; consult your health specialist.

My pillow stopped working/feeling good
-Be sure you perform maintenance and frequent fluffing, especially if it feels flat.
-Reassess. Maybe you changed, especially after travel, prolonged sitting, or positive postural improvements.
-You may need Pillow-care (learn more on our website). Many specialists recommend replacing your pillow every 6-12 months. Everyone is different; some variables include hygiene, toxin exposure, and environment. With pillow-care or self/home re-stuffing, there is no need for a new pillow.

Snoring/trouble breathing
-Check to see if the head is tilted too far back or forward (too much cervical flexion or extension) Start by adjusting section 1 and then 6 if needed.
*Snoring and certain types of sleep apnea can also be caused by alcohol, overeating, or eating too close to bedtime.

Side sleeper only, and the pillow doesn't seem set right
Make sure you follow the directions to convert the pillow for your sleeping style on page 5. The pillow comes set to a combination style by default. Add fill to section 8 of the core to remove the recessed area.

The fill moves around
The zoned construction keeps the right amount of structure in the correct places. Fill movement within the sections allows for necessary contouring; some fill shifting is normal and beneficial.

Too hot
A bamboo pillow-topper or silk pillowcase adds additional thermoregulation.

The pillowcase doesn't fit
Follow the care instructions to avoid shrinkage unless you intend to keep your pillow loft low and you feel your case is baggy; in this instance, you may shrink to fit.
You can purchase extra cases anytime. -Pillowcases/Toppers

Is it okay to flip the pillow? / Which side of the pillow do I sleep on?
Pay extra attention to the videos where we go into great detail on orientation. However, in some cases, the pillow may be flipped or rotated.

Noble Lower Body Pillow

The Noble Lower Body Pillow is a multipositional support system, not a standard knee pillow. Its triangular shape and nine adjustable compartments are designed to replace several sleep aids at once, including low-back wedges, bolsters, and knee pillows. Because it does more than a single-purpose pillow, some may need to adjust their pillow for its initial setup. Use the instructional videos below to understand when and how to make any necessary changes for the best result.

Start here — Step 1 of 3

Lower body pillow overview

This video introduces you to how the pillow is built and what it's designed to do. While back sleeping, the pillow supports the lumbar spine, reduces hip rotation, and cushions behind the knees. While side sleeping, it aligns the pelvis, knees, and ankles to eliminate uncomfortable pressure points. Watch this before moving to setup.

*For reference, the demonstration pillow is a Tall size. Please follow the size chart or contact us for help with size selection or add on levels for extra loft.

Step 2 of 3

Initial setup & fluffing

Before your first use, your pillow needs to be properly fluffed and shaped. This video walks you through that process and helps you establish a baseline configuration suited to your body contours and mattress firmness. Taking time here will make the adjustment process in Step 3 more effective.

Troubleshooting/FAQ
Why is there an extra pillowcase on the enclosed pillow
The extra case is meant for when you use the regular pillow on its own — either early in pregnancy or after birth. If you're using the full pregnancy unit, you can remove the extra case and save it for later, or simply leave it on — whichever feels most comfortable.

The pillow is too firm
-Make sure you follow the fluffing instructions.
-Follow the washing/drying instructions; if it shrinks from improper washing, it will compress and make the pillow stiff. If this happens, more cases are available online.
-Try removing the filling from stiff areas.
-If you need softer fills, don't hesitate to contact us.

My pillow stopped working/feeling good
-Be sure you perform maintenance and frequent fluffing, especially if it feels flat.
-Reassess. Maybe you changed, especially after travel, prolonged sitting, or progression through pregnancy phases.
-You may need Pillow-care (learn more on our website). Many specialists recommend replacing your pillow every 6-12 months. Everyone is different; some variables include hygiene, toxin exposure, and environment. With pillow-care or self/home re-stuffing, there is no need for a new pillow.

The pillowcase doesn't fit
Follow the care instructions to avoid shrinkage unless you intend to keep your pillow loft low and you feel your case is baggy; in this instance, you may shrink to fit.

What is the bamboo case for
The bamboo case is an extra-absorbent cover designed for breastfeeding, and it can also be used on the regular LBP to provide a softer texture or added cooling. Additional bamboo covers are available if you’d like one dedicated to each purpose.

Extra Information
Side-only sleeping with the top leg in front and off of the bottom leg is widely recommended (usually, sleeping on the left side is best). This position may be advised as early as 25 weeks. There are different schools of thought; since this time period may vary, consult your specialist. If it is too early for you to convert to this sleeping posture, you may remove the regular lower body pillow and replace it later in your pregnancy.

Post-pregnancy, the pillows may be removed from the cover and used independently to support you and your baby. New mothers love using the regular lower body pillow for back and/or side support, and the base makes a perfect nursing pillow. In addition, your pillow can be stacked on the base to provide additional height during feedings if needed.
